Robbins' Motorcycle License Plate for Veterans
Signed into Law
Harrisburg – Legislation sponsored by state Senator Bob Robbins
(R-50) was signed into law by the Governor this week.
Senate Bill 279 creates a veterans license plate for motorcycles.
Sen. Robbins stated, "Prior to this bill becoming law, Pennsylvania
had eleven special veterans license plates for automobiles, but not
one for motorcycles. This new law simply provides veterans--who are
motorcycle enthusiasts--the same opportunity to proudly display their
service to our country. It has been a privilege to sponsor this
legislation on behalf of the veterans community. It is important that
we provide veterans with the proper recognition they deserve."
Senate Bill 279 is now Act 8 of 2004. The law will take effect in
60 days. Once the plate is created by the Department of
Transportation, any honorably discharged veteran may apply to the
Department for a veterans motorcycle license plate, which will cost
$20.00.
