Robbins: Grant will Aid Crawford County Watershed
Improvement
Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the
awarding of a grant to hire a watershed specialist in Crawford County.
Robbins said a $64,000 grant is being awarded to the Crawford
County Conservation District to hire a watershed specialist to provide
technical assistance. The watershed specialist will oversee watershed
assessment, procurement of funding and the creation of work plans to
restore and protect groundwater and surface water in Crawford County.
"This grant will allow the Crawford County Conservation District to
employ a trained professional to help improve the quality and quantity
of the county's water supply," said Robbins. "The availability of
clean, safe water is important for thriving communities, economic
development and recreation."
The grant was awarded by the state Department of Environmental
Protection through the Environmental Stewardship and Watershed
Protection Program, also know as Growing Greener.
