Robbins Announces Grant for New
Neshannock Township Phone and Radio System
Harrisburg – Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today
announced the awarding of a $20,000 state grant to
help Neshannock Township pay for an integrated
telephone and radio network in its new municipal
complex.
Robbins said the new communications system will
offer greater access to local officials, easer
intra-office communications, an expanded trunk
line capacity and newer technological features.
"Neshannock Township municipal offices are
undergoing extensive remodeling and consolidation,
bringing all municipal services to one complex,"
said Robbins. "It makes sense that a new
communications system be part of the upgrades.
Among other benefits, the new system will allow
for cost-efficient integration of departments, and
provide employees and emergency personnel the
ability to staff and monitor events during local
emergencies."
The grant was provided through the Community
Revitalization Program, which is administered by
the state Department of Community and Economic
Development.
