Robbins Announces Recycling,
Sewage Treatment Grants
Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50)
today announced the awarding of a state recycling
grant and a sewage treatment grant.
Robbins said Mercer County will receive $28,291
from the state Recycling Coordinate Grant Program.
The grant will be used to reimburse Mercer County
for 50 percent of the county recycling
coordinator's salary and expenses.
In addition, the Senator said that Wilmington
Township has been awarded $424 through the state
Sewage Facilities Enforcement Grant Program. The
funds will be used to reimburse Wilmington
Township for 50 percent of the eligible expenses
of enforcing state sewage standards.
"Our counties and municipalities spend a great
deal of money to meet state requirements on
recycling and sewage treatment, and it is
important that state tax dollars are returned to
the communities to help cover those costs," said
Robbins.
