Robbins Announces Grant to Help Pay for Recycling in Lawrence County

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the awarding of a state grant to help Lawrence County cover costs related to recycling.

Robbins said Lawrence County will receive $28,526 from the state Recycling Coordinator Grant Program. The grant will be used to reimburse the county for 50 percent of the county recycling coordinator's salary and expenses.

"Our counties and municipalities spend a great deal of money to meet state requirements on recycling, and it is important that state tax dollars are returned to the communities to help cover those costs," said Robbins.

The Recycling Coordinator Grant Program is administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
