FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Robbins Announces $650,000 Grant to Widen Keystone Regional Industrial Park RoadHarrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the approval of a $650,000 grant to widen Delano Road in the Keystone Regional Industrial Park in Greenwood Township. Robbins said widening the road to two, full traffic lanes is necessary to accommodate the expansion of the J-M Manufacturing Co. plant, which will create more than 60 new jobs. The road will be expanded from 22 feet to 24 feet wide. J-M Manufacturing is the largest manufacturer of PVC pipe in the world. The road widening is part of a $12 million expansion project, said Robbins. "The widening of Delano Road is necessary to accommodate the increased activity that the J-M Manufacturing will bring," said Robbins. "The wider road will benefit the clients and workers of not only J-M Manufacturing, but also nearby Arro Forge Inc. and the new companies coming to Phase Two of Keystone Regional Industrial Park. You need the right infrastructure to create and retain new jobs, and that is what this grant will provide." In addition to being too narrow, the current 1.7-mile-long, asphalt Delano Road is in poor condition. The grant will pay for widening and resurfacing of the road and shoulders, and improve drainage. The state Infrastructure Development Program grant was awarded to the Meadville Area Industrial Commission on behalf of the company. The grant program is administered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development. CONTACT: Mike Hengst (717) 787-1322
