Robbins Announces Hempfield Township Sewage Treatment Grant

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins today announced the awarding of a state sewage treatment grant to Hempfield Township in Mercer County.

Robbins said the township has been awarded $492 through the state Sewage Facilities Enforcement Grants Program.  The funds will be used to reimburse the township for 50 percent of the eligible expenses of enforcing state sewage standards.

"Our municipalities spend a great deal of money to meet state requirements on sewage treatment, and it is important that state tax dollars are returned to the communities such as Hempfield to help cover those costs," said Robbins.

The Sewage Facilities Enforcement Grant Program is administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
