FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Robbins Announces Crawford County Arts GrantsHarrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the approval of state grants to support five arts organizations in Crawford County. Robbins said the following grants were approved at a recent meeting of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts: Allegheny College Public Events Committee ($6,587), Allegheny College Art Galleries ($3,743), Meadville Community Theatre ($1,729), Meadville Council on the Arts ($11,388) and Titusville Council on the Arts ($2,979). "These organizations make the arts accessible to a broad audience of Crawford County citizens," said Robbins. "They show that you don't have to travel to big cities to experience great music, theater or artwork. I am very pleased to announce these grants to support their work." Created in 1966, the 19-member Pennsylvania Council on the Arts responds to requests for support of projects initiated by nonprofit groups, institutions and artists. Grants are awarded with input from more than 100 citizens serving on advisory panels. CONTACT: Mike Hengst (717) 787-1322 |
