Robbins Announces Grant for Conneautville Dam Repairs

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the awarding of a state grant to pay for remedial repairs to the Conneautville Dam.

Robbins said the $7,535 will be used to pay for backfilling surface holes and cracks in the embankment, and sealing critical joints in the outlet conduit.

"Structures such as this need to be constantly monitored and repaired so they can do their jobs safely and efficiently," said Robbins.  "I believe it is important to work to bring state funds back to the community and help pay for projects that impact public safety."

The grant is being awarded by the state Department of Environmental Protection through the Flood Protection Grant Program.  To be eligible, flood protection projects must be maintained in acceptable condition and in a state of readiness to function as designed during a high water event.

The grant reimburses up to 65 percent of the cost for protect improvements and non-routine maintenance and up to 50 percent of the cost to purchase specialize equipment.
