Robbins Announces Mercer County Sewage Treatment Grant

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the awarding of a state sewage treatment grant to the Mercer County Joint Sewage Agency.

Robbins said the agency has been awarded $5,081 through the state Sewage Facilities Enforcement Grants Program. The funds will be used to reimburse the agency for 50 percent of the eligible expenses of enforcing state sewage standards.

"Local agencies spend a great deal of money to meet state requirements on sewage treatment, and it is important that legislators work to ensure that state tax dollars are returned to Mercer County communities to help cover those costs," said Robbins.

The Mercer County Joint Sewage Agency serves Clark Borough and the townships of Deer Creek, Delaware, Lackawannock, East Lackawannock, Fairview, Findley, French Creek, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, New Vernon, Perry, Pine, Sandy Lake, South Pymatuning, Sugar Grove and Worth. The agency also serves Little Beaver Township in Lawrence County and the townships of Frenchcreek and Canal in Venango County.
