Robbins: Senate Votes to
Repeal Pay Raise
Legislation Now
Heads to the Governor
Harrisburg – The state Senate today voted
unanimously to repeal the legislative pay raise,
according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50).
The Senate approved House Bill 1956, legislation
to repeal the pay raise for the legislative,
executive and judicial branches initially approved
in July.
"I have heard from many constituents who urged me
to vote for a repeal of the pay raise. I took their
messages to heart and supported this repeal
measure," said Robbins. "I am pleased that we were
able to work with the House to come to a conclusion
on this matter so that we can focus on our positive
legislative agenda, which includes property tax
reform, establishing spending limits for state
government, and providing additional support for the
Pennsylvania National Guard.
House Bill 1956 now heads to the Governor for his
approval.
The Senator will return his pay increase to the
Commonwealth. "Simply put, this is the right thing
to do," said Robbins.
