FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Robbins Announces Sewage Treatment Grants for Area MunicipalitiesHarrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the awarding of state sewage treatment grants to help six Crawford County townships cover their treatment costs. Robbins said the grants are being awarded through the Sewage Facilities Enforcement Grants Program, administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection. The funds will be used to reimburse the townships for 50 percent of the eligible expenses of enforcing state sewage standards. Robbins said grants are being awarded to Beaver Township ($1,182), Conneaut Township ($1,222), Hayfield Township ($1,991), Sadsbury Township ($810), Union Township ($268), and Vernon Township ($1,165). "Local townships spend a great deal of money to meet strict requirements on sewage treatment. That's why I work to ensure that state tax dollars are returned to our communities to help cover those costs," said Robbins. CONTACT: Nate Silcox
