FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Robbins Announces Grant to Further Develop East Branch Trail in CrawfordHarrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the approval of a state grant to further develop the East Branch Trail in Crawford County. The $210,000 grant was awarded to the Clear Lake Authority, Robbins said. The grant will be used for work on 10 miles of trail beginning at the Erie County line, passing through Spartansburg, and ending at Centerville Borough. The work will include trail surfacing, trailhead parking, drainage improvements and installation of shelters, Robbins said. "State grants to improve trails help make hiking and outdoor recreation available to more citizens, and I am committed to making sure Crawford County gets its share," said Robbins. The funds are being awarded through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program. The CCPP initiative is administered by DCNR Bureau of Recreation and Conservation to provide financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts and other nonprofits for the planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenways projects. Funds are provided by the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund and the Environmental Stewardship Act Fund. CONTACT: Mike Hengst
