FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cambridge Springs Receives State Assistance for Upgrades for Public Water SystemHarrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) announced the approval of a state Safe Water grant for the Borough of Cambridge Springs. Robbins said that the state assistance, in the amount of $224,000, will allow the Borough to make significant upgrades to their public water system. The funds will be used for the replacement of the current water storage tank and the installation of a control and data system. "The current water tank was constructed in 1940 and has serious structural issues," said Robbins. "This grant will not only allow Cambridge Springs to replace the current storage tank, but will make for a more efficient and reliable water system." Randy Gorske, Mayor of Cambridge Springs, stated, "I am thankful that we could work with Senator Robbins to obtain the assistance needed to make this project come alive. Without this funding, water rates would have increased for Cambridge Spring residents." CONTACT: Nate Silcox |
