FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Robbins: Crawford County Business Receives State Assistance for Expansion ProjectHarrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) announced the approval of a Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) loan for Viking Tool & Gage, Inc. of Crawford County that will help expand its facility and add additional employees. Viking Tool & Gage, located along State Highway 18 in Conneaut Lake, is one of the largest metal fabricators in western Pennsylvania. It fabricates metals and supplies dies, fixtures and spare parts for the automotive, medical, and recreational industries. Robbins said the PIDA loan in the amount of $180,000 will allow Viking Tool & Gage to expand its current 52,500 square foot site. The Company will be adding another 6 employees to its current workforce of 120 employees. Jack Burns, President of Viking Tool & Gage, said that the company outgrew its facility. "The expanded building will give us enough space for the foreseeable future," said Burns. "The tooling industry is critical to Crawford County's economy," said Robbins. "This state assistance will help ensure the continued success of this industry and preserve family-sustaining jobs." PIDA supplies low interest loans for new and expanding industrial companies retaining or creating jobs in Pennsylvania.
