FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Robbins Secures Funds for Downtown Greenville ProjectGrant will help make Neuromodulation Center a reality. Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the approval of a state grant to assist a major business development in downtown Greenville. Robbins said the $99,000 Community Revitalization Program grant will be used to help develop FHC Inc.'s Neuromodulation Center. FHC, a biomedical technology company, is renovating the 22,000-square-foot building on Main Street with the help of the Greenville Area Economic Development Corp. "This is bigger than just one project. It's part of the effort to restructure the regional economy to produce jobs in the 21st century," said Robbins. "These funds will be used to renovate the interior of the building, while preserving the historic exterior look." Once operational, the center will create 15 new jobs and will be able to perform up to 75 medical procedures per year at Greenville UPMC. Jim Lowery, of the Greenville Area Economic Development Corporation, said the grant will aid one of the most important projects in Greenville's history. "This is the most significant project in Greenville of the last 25 or 30 years. It has the potential to change the landscape and really move us from a manufacturing base to technology," said Lowery. The Community Revitalization Program is administered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development. CONTACT: Michael A. Hengst
