Robbins: Funding Helps to Preserve Lawrence County Historical Society

A state grant of $6,413 will be awarded to the Lawrence County Historical Society, according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50).

The Pennsylvania History and Museum Commission issued a General Operating Support for Official County Historical Society Grant to assist the Lawrence County Historical Society with daily operating costs.

"It is important that we preserve the Commonwealth's museums and historical societies," said Robbins.  "These facilities provide a great resource for students, adults and families to learn about the history of our great state."

For Fiscal Year 2006-07, the Commission has awarded 107 General Operating Support for Museum Grants totaling $2,379,882 and 48 General Operating Support for Official County Historical Society Grants for $411,413.
