FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Robbins: Applications Being Accepted for Military Family Relief Assistance ProgramFamilies facing hardship benefit from donations, tax return check-off. Harrisburg – Applications are being accepted for a new program that assists Pennsylvania service members and their families who have immediate financial needs as a result of their military service, according to state Senator Bob Robbins (R-50). "I was actively involved in the creation of the Military Family Relief Assistance Program because it allows Pennsylvanians to contribute to a fund that will help military families in need," said Robbins, a Vietnam veteran. "We ask much of our military, and much of the families left behind. I encourage military families in our area to look into this program if they need help dealing with a hardship brought on by being called to active duty." The Military Family Relief Assistance Program provides grants of up to $2,500 to eligible Pennsylvania service members and their eligible family members. Eligible members must have a direct and immediate financial need as a result of military service. Such financial need may include, but is not limited to, the following:
