Senator Robbins Statement on Supreme Court Decision to Reinstate Judicial Pay Increases

I am extremely disappointed at the Supreme Court's decision to reinstate their judicial pay increase.

The citizens of this Commonwealth have made it very clear that the pay increase was not warranted and that it should not only be repealed but paid back -- as I did immediately.

The legislation to repeal this raise was appropriate in its elimination throughout all branches of government and the decision of the Supreme Court to overturn the repeal of their judicial pay increase was inappropriate and against the will of the people.

A review of the entire 100 page decision is currently being done to see what, if any, action can be taken by the legislature and I will certainly be working closely with our chief counsel and caucus on any legislation that is proposed.
