Robbins Announces Stream Bank Restoration and Flood Protection Projects

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the approval of state grants to fund two stream bank restoration and flood protection projects in Crawford County.

Robbins said a $72,539 grant is being awarded to the Crawford County Conservation District to support the Crawford County High School Volunteer Stream Bank Restoration Project.

The senator said a $64,995 grant has been approved for Fairfield Township to pay for flood assessment and protection in the Wymans Run Watershed.

"Stream bank restoration and flood protection are important tasks for communities to undertake, and I am pleased to announce state support for these two projects," said Robbins.

The funds were approved by the state Department of Environmental Protection, through the Growing Greener program. A portion of the funds is financed by a bond approved by voters in 2005.
