FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Meadville Recreation Authority Receives $25,000 GrantSenator Robbins secures funding for ice arena improvementsThe Meadville Area Recreation Authority will receive a $25,000 Community Revitalization state grant for improvements to the ice arena at the Meadville Area Recreation Complex, according to state Senator Bob Robbins (R-50). Senator Robbins was able to secure the funding for the project, which involves the replacement of the 31 year-old dasher boards at the arena. "I am very happy that I able to secure the money for this worthwhile project," Senator Robbins said. "The ice arena is the major source of income for the recreation authority and a true asset to the community. It provides a home for a number of community organizations including the Meadville Bulldog Hockey Team, the Crawford County Youth Hockey Association, the Meadville Figure Skating Club, and the Allegheny College Hockey Team." The state Community Revitalization grants are designed to support projects that promote community improvement, public safety and job creation. The Community Revitalization program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development. Contact: Michael Hengst |
