Environmental Ed Grants Awarded

Crawford County groups receive funding

Three Crawford County groups all recently received state Environmental Education Program grants from the Department of Environmental Protection, according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50).

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council received $14,958 to purchase software and weather monitoring equipment to expand a solar photovoltaic demonstration project at Meadville Area High School and hold three educator workshops.

The Conneaut School District received $2,000 for field trips to the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and various waterways, where students will receive hands-on experiences in learning about watersheds.

Pymatuning State Park received $867 to develop and present a teacher workshop on alternative energy and to purchase equipment and materials for an energy-focused resource trunk that will be available for schools to borrow.
