FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Greenwood Township Receives $18,000 State GrantFunding to buy municipal offices, replace garage roofGreenwood Township will receive an $18,000 state grant to pay for its new municipal office and replace roofs on its garage and storage buildings, according to state Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) and state Representative Michele Brooks (R-17). The Township purchased a new, unused double-wide from Hanover Township and plans to renovate the structure as township offices and a meeting facility for its monthly meetings. The money will also be used to replace the roofs on the out buildings, which were built in 1941 and purchased by the township in 1987. "The truth is this is an important grant for a small community, which simply may not have the resources available to undertake these projects," Senator Robbins said. "This is a good investment in quality of life for the people of Greenwood Township." "I am pleased that the Commonwealth is providing this assistance to Greenwood Township," Representative Brooks said. "The municipal office building is the heart of many activities and programs and this grant will help the township provide a suitable location for those services."
