On September 29, 2004, American Cancer Society volunteers, survivors, caregivers and community leaders from across Pennsylvania traveled to Harrisburg for the Pennsylvania Relay for Life Celebration at the state capitol.  Members who attended the Relay for Life from Crawford, Lawrence and Mercer Counties met with Senator Robbins (R-50) in his Harrisburg office to discuss pertinent issues.

Senator Robbins during National Guard Day

Harrisburg – June 8, 2004 – Senator Bob Robbins (R-50), center, joins Major Julie Carpenter, U.S. Air Force, 193rd Medical (left), and SR. Airman, Georgia Powell, US. Air Force 193rd Special Operations (left) during National Guard Day ceremonies at the state capitol. Major Carpenter and Senior Airman Powell were recognized for their efforts last December in the capture of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Senator Robbins and Keystone Boys

HARRISBURG – June 23, 2004 -The Keystone Boys State, sponsored by the American Legion, is a leadership development week for incoming high school seniors from all regions of Pennsylvania. Students selected to attend Boys State have the opportunity to gain leadership skills through a variety of activities and presentations during the weeklong program, which was held at Shippensburg University. The hallmark of Boys State is the hands-on-government-practical exercise which spans the city, county and state levels of involvement. The weeklong event also included a trip to the Pennsylvania State Capitol building in Harrisburg to meet legislators and see the Senate and House in session. Senator Robbins on National Guard Day

Harrisburg – June 8, 2004, Major General Jessica Wright, Adjutant General of Pennsylvania, addressing dignitaries and other guests during ceremonies at the state capitol building during ceremonies recognizing the men and women serving in Pennsylvania’s National Guard.

Harrisburg – June 8, 2004 – Senator Robbins (R-50), (far right), joins other legislators and members of the Pennsylvania National Guard during ceremonies in the capitol building for Pennsylvania National Guard Day, a day which honors the men and women of Pennsylvania serving their state and country. Speaking is Governor Rendell.

Senator Robbins and Intern Amy Henegan

June 18, 2004 -HARRISBURG – Pictured with Senator Robbins in the Senate Chamber is Amy Henegan a sophomore at Jamestown High School. She serves as class President and is a member of Student Council, a Level 9 gymnast and a member of the school's Cross Country team, for which she recently became a state medalist. Amy recently served as the guest page of Senator Bob Robbins (R-50). As part of her duties as guest page, Amy delivered correspondence between legislative offices as well as attending the session of the Senate. "The guest page program is an excellent opportunity for young people to get a close up view of their government in action," stated Senator Robbins.

 

Senator Robbins and Civil Air Patrol (CAP)

May 12, 2004-HARRISBURG – Senator Robbins joined officials and cadets of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in the Capitol to present them with a ceremonial $300,000 check representing its 2003-04 state appropriation. The Civil Air Patrol was founded in December 1941, one week before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor; by more than 150,000 citizens concerned about the defense of America's coastline. CAP now serves as a U.S. Air Force Auxiliary and conducts 95 percent of inland search and rescue in the U.S.

June 8, 2004-HARRISBURG – Joining Senator Robbins on the floor of the Senate are his summer interns, Tim Wachter (left) and Lucas Martsolf (right). Tim Wachter, a law student beginning his second year at Penn State Dickinson School of Law, is interning in the Harrisburg office. Lucas Martsolf a resident of Jamestown, Mercer County is beginning his senior year at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

May 11, 2004-HARRISBURG – Senator Robbins attended the Small Business Development Center Expo at the Capitol. The expo is an opportunity to showcase new small businesses in Pennsylvania. James Hawley, president of Hawley Diversified of West Middlesex, Mercer County, shows Senator Robbins a truck safety ladder manufactured by Transladder Corporation, a subsidiary of Hawley Diversified.
