HARRISBURG – May 3, 2006 - As part of "Science in
Motion Day at the Capitol," Sen. Robbins speaks at a press
conference on the importance of the hands-on education that Science
in Motion helps provide. The Pennsylvania Science in Motion Program
provides funding to eleven colleges around the state (including
Westminster College) to purchase high-tech science equipment, such
as atomic force microscopes and DNA profiling equipment. This
equipment is then transported and shared with surrounding middle and
high school students. The program also provides professional
development to teachers.

Martin of the Westminster College Science in Motion Program.
Westminster College has a partnership with the following school
districts in the 50th Senatorial District: Elwood City SD, Farrell
SD, Grove City SD, Hermitage SD, Jamestown SD, Lakeview SD, Laurel
SD, Mercer SD, Neshannock SD, New Castle SD, Penn Crest SD, Reynolds
SD, Seneca Valley SD, Sharon SD, Sharpsville SD, Slippery Rock SD,
Wilmington SD, as well as the Grove City Christian Academy, Kennedy
Catholic, and the New Castle Christian Academy.

HARRISBURG – May 3, 2006 - As part of "Science in Motion Day" at the
Capitol, Sen. Robbins meets with Dr. Lorraine Mulfinger, Director
for Science Outreach at Juniata College and Rick Imler, a teacher at
Hollidaysburg High School in Blair County. Science in Motion was
originally founded at Juniata College.
