November 2, 2007 – Senator Bob Robbins speaking at the
dedication ceremony of the improved interchange at state
Route 208 and Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, Mercer
County. The project began in 2005 to provide a new six-lane
bridge across I-79 and also involved widening and
reconstruction of about 1.25 miles of Route 208 near the
Prime Outlets. Also attending the ceremony were many state
and local officials as well as Congressman Phil English.

October 30, 2007 - Senator Bob Robbins
questioning Kenneth R. Melani, M.D. President and CEO of
Highmark Inc. and Joseph A. Frick President and CEO of
Independence Blue Cross during the Senate Banking and
Insurance Committee hearing. The hearing was held to
obtaining further information on the impact the pending
merger of these companies will have on competition in the
health care insurance market.

October 28, 2007 - Rep. Michele Brooks (R-17) and Senator
Bob Robbins (R-50) joined members of the Transfer Volunteer
Fire Company and friends at the dedication of the newly
remodeled fire station. The Transfer fire station was
renamed the Adams Station in recognition of Wayne and Daisy
Adams for sixty years of dedicated service to the Transfer

October 28, 2007 - Senator Bob Robbins talking with
Transfer Volunteer Fire Company Fire Chief Phillip Steele at
the dedication of the remodeled fire station newly named the
Adams Station. Senator Robbins was able to secure a
Community Revitalization Grant in the amount of $20,000 to
assist the volunteer fire company make the necessary
renovations to the fire station.

October 12, 2007 - Anthony Trucco, center, a
Meadville High School student was selected as Student Lt.
Governor during Senator Robbins' student government seminar.
His duties required him to preside over the legislative
session of the student government seminar. Pictured with Mr.

(right) the Secretary of the Pennsylvania State Senate. Mr.
Corrigan is the Pennsylvania State Senate Parliamentarian
and assisted Mr. Trucco in his duties as Lt. Governor.

October 11, 2007 – Senator Robbins, (third from right)
and Representative Michele Brooks (4th from left) joined
Secretary of Agriculture Dennis Wolff (5th from left),
company and local officials at the ground breaking of the
Fairview Swiss Cheese Plant in Mercer County. The $2.2
million project involves an anaerobic digester that will use
cheese whey from the plant and cone batter waste from Joy
Cone Co. to make 40 million cubic feet of biogas annually.
The biogas will be used in a boiler to produce steam and
electricity for processing milk into cheese.

October 2, 2007 - Harrisburg - Kimberly Negrin, a resident of Lawrence
County and student at Slippery Rock University was joined
with Rep. Michele Brooks (R-17) and Senator Bob Robbins
(R-50) in the Capitol Building in Harrisburg during
"Undergraduate Research At The Capitol," a poster conference
that showcased undergraduate research in the Commonwealth.

October 2, 2007 - Pastor Charles Schwartz, Pastor of
Bible Baptist Church in Mercer, recently served as Chaplain
of the Senate as a guest of Senator Bob Robbins (R-50). Also
joining Pastor Schwartz were his daughters, Heather and
Lauren Schwartz who were guest pages in the Senate during
the week and his wife Cary Schwartz.

September 30, 2007 - At the annual
Pennsylvania Wing Conference of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet
Lieutenant Colonel Nichole L. McCandless of Mercer, PA was
honored with the General Ira C. Eaker Award for successfully
completing all the achievements of the Civil Air Patrol
Cadet Program. Senator Bob Robbins presented Miss McCandless
with a Senate Citation recognizing her for her most
noteworthy achievement.

September 30, 2007 – Senator Bob Robbins was
awarded the Pennsylvania Wing Distinguished Service Award at
the Annual Pennsylvania Wing Conference for his support of
the members and cadets of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol. Senator
Robbins was honored for his longstanding distinguished
support of volunteers serving the Commonwealth and America.
Presenting the award to Senator Robbins is Colonel Al
Applebaum, Pennsylvania Wing Commander.

held in Harrisburg. Those participating in the pinning were

 June 12, 2007 - Senator Bob Robbins
(R-50), Vice Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs and
Emergency Preparedness Committee asking questions during a
joint hearing of the Senate and House Veterans Affairs and
Emergency Preparedness Committees. The purpose of the
hearing was to take testimony on a proposal to provide
funding to sustain services and outreach to veterans by
service officers employed by veteran service organizations.

Harrisburg - Members of AARP from Lawrence
and Mercer Counties participated in a rally at the
Pennsylvania State Capitol Building on June 5, 2007 in
support of legislative issues important to senior citizens.
After the rally the group met with Senator Robbins (R-50) in
his Harrisburg office before catching their bus to return
home.

June 5, 2007 – Senator Robbins (R-50) was
visited in his Harrisburg office by representatives of the
Pittsburgh Zoo. As part of their presentation to the Senator
they shared with him two animals that are residents of the
Zoo, a Chinchilla and a Blue Tongue Skink.

May 14, 2007 - The Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, chaired by
Senator Michael W. Brubaker, visited Mercer County to hear from local residents
and farmers regarding their concerns. The session was open to the public and

Markel of East Brady, PA, representing the Muscular
Dystrophy Association, visited the PA capitol building
during a rally day in support of Senator Robbins'
"Boot-Drive" Legislation. Joining the Markel family on the

March 14, 2007 - Joining Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) in the Pennsylvania
Senate Chamber are Linda and Mark Brown, residents of Mercer, Pennsylvania.
Mr. & Mrs. Brown were nominated to serve as Penn Ambassadors and participated
in the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission's "Heritage Week" program
at the State Museum in Harrisburg.
Mark is the Secretary of the Mercer County Historical Society and Linda
serves as a Board member of the Historical Society.
In addition, Mark and Linda are the Chairpersons for the annual Mercer
Memorial Day 500 Parade.
